For a long time, there has been a lack of a common platform that gathers different types of ecological expertise under one roof. This will be a network of us biologists, for us biologists, where we will exchange experiences, job opportunities, and in other ways support each other in our professional lives. Hopefully, this will help younger biologists to enter the industry and assist older ones in improving their conditions and developing their skills.

Everything related to biology is welcome in the Ecological Collective. For example, if you are short of colleagues in your department, or need fieldworkers. Perhaps you need support with a survey method. Are you wondering if you have too little or too much salary? Or if you simply want to gather like-minded individuals for a bioblitz and socializing!

Welcome to the Ecological Collective!

MinervaX is a vaccine company working on the development of a maternal vaccine against Group B Streptococcus (GBS), to prevent and protect against adverse pregnancy outcomes
and serious infections in babies.
GBS is a common commensal colonizing some 20% of pregnant women. GBS colonization may lead to adverse pregnancy outcomes and is the leading cause of life-threatening infections in newborn babies during the first 3 months of life.
Current intervention involves the use of prophylactic antibiotics given to birthing women, which has resulted in the emergence of wide-spread antibiotic resistance and may impact neonatal development. MinervaX is developing a novel innovative, adjuvanted protein-only vaccine based on bacterial antigens derived from the family of alpha-like surface proteins of Group B Streptococcus. The antigens are based on the N-terminal domains of the most prevalent alpha-like protein serotypes (AlpCN, RibN, Alp1N and Alp2/3N), covering close to 100% of
clinical GBS isolates.
