A new vice chancellor’s decision was made on the 21st of December due to the government’s stricter directives. The interpretation for the Faculty of Science is that examination and teaching shall take place digitally except in extreme exceptional cases. This means that exemptions can be granted only for practical elements in the study program that require the presence of students and that, if they are cancelled in January, lead to far-reaching consequences for the quality of the education.

Educational activities that are planned to be physically carried out on campus must be approves by the dean. Risk assessment for educational activities on campus must be approved by the head of department.

Students are encouraged to study at home. Study places that are accessible via LU cards will continue to ve so to enable digital studies and assessment.

Libraries will be kept open within limits to provide reference literature and opportunities or lending and returns. Opening hours are announced on the library units’ websites. Students and employees are referred as far as possible to digital support and digital collections.

These rules enter into force from 24 December 2020 and shall apply until 31 January 2021 unless otherwise announced earlier.

Take care!
