The Nomination committee hereby announce the vacant positions of Lunds naturvetarkår.
We are now accepting applications for as well as all vacant positions to be elected on the ninth parliament meeting on Monday the 9th of December. Application closes Monday the 25th of November.

Some of the vacancies are:

Tandem General (3,0)

The Tandem Generals are responsible for organising the LUNA participation in the annual ‘Tandem Staffetten’ taking place in May. Tandem stafetten is a relay-race from Gothenburg to Lund where teams from all over Lund travel by buss to Gothenburg to later bike tandem bicycles down to Lund. The responsibility of the Tandem Generals include but is not limited to ensuring the LUNA-team follows all the rules set up by the organisers, bookings of buses and making sure the participants have the best possible time during the entire relay-race. The Tandem Generals are ultimately responsible during the race and have to stay sober the whole event.

Jubileemaster (2,0)

As a union Jubileemaster, you are responsible for planning and carrying out the 25 year jubilee celebrations of LUNA! The jubileemasters would be free to expand the project group to the amount of people needed. The jubilee celebration will be carried out in the fall of 2020 and the planning should be done in the spring of 2020.

As a representative from Lunds naturvetarkår (LUNA) in the Lund University Student Unions Nomination Committee you represent the opinions of The Science Student Union in nominations for Lund University Student Unions positions for the upcoming operational year. Parliament Presidium (2,2)

As a part of the Parliament Presidium you work in a pair of chairperson and secretary to lead the parliament meetings taking place roughtly once a month. The Parliament is the highest deciding body of The Science Student Union and is where all major decisions are made. As part of the Parliament presidium you are expected to be familiar with the statutes and have experience with meeting formalia.

This Tuesday, the union board had its sixth meeting of the operational year. The board approved of an application for the project fund, approved of extending the union google drive storage, approved of the Sports Committee creating an Instagram account, and lastly discussed how the board should approach the currently ongoing Science Village discussions in LUS.

These meeting updates on the website haven’t been kept up during this operational year (the presidium apologizes for this), but will be starting up now!

Representative for SFS Parliament (SFSFUM) (3,0)

The representatives for SFS Parliament represent our opinions in student related matters on a national level during the Parliament meeting of SFS in the end of spring. The meeting takes place in Halmstad over a three day period and representatives are expected to be able to be present the entire period. Representatives are also expected to stay up-to-date on union opinions and participate in several preparatory meetings throughout the semester.
Knowledge of Swedish is required for this position.

The Mentor committee is responsible for the planning, execution, and evaluation of the welcome activities for new students at the faculty (novisch period) which is done with the help of elected mentors. The chairperson is responsible for making sure that the committee is following the directives set by the parliament and is also responsible for the budget of the novisch period. The chairperson is tasked with setting agendas for, and summoning to all meetings held by the committee and works in close contact with the presidium during the novisch period.

This is done by, together with the chairperson, electing mentors for the autumn novisch period and making sure that a novisch period is executed as well as arranging a proper thank you event for the mentors after the novisch period is done. The members of the Corporate Relations Committee assist the Head of Corporate Relations in the work with the career related activities of the union. Everything from spreading information about career opportunities to organising events in the ATLAS initiative. The position has different areas of responsibility depending on your interest: Corporate Relations Coordinator, Event Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator, Internal Coordinator or Sponsorship Coordinator.

The chairperson of the Party Committee lead and directs the work of the committee through setting the agenda for discussions regarding the social activities held by the union and executing these together with the committee. The chairperson together with the committee is responsible for the planning, organising and execution of the union social activities in the form of parties, barbecues or other social events.

As a student representative in the Faculty Education Board (N!UN) you represent the student opinion in education related matters at the Faculty of Science. The Faculty Education Board is where the final decisions concerning all basic (bachelors and masters) education is made. As a representative in the Faculty Education Board you are also part of the union Education Committee (UU). Elected representatives get payment compensation from the Faculty.
