Winter Novisch Period

Are you starting as a new student at the Faculty of Science at Lunds University this winter? Will you be a student at a Bachelors- or Masters program or take a single course? Then you have come to the right place. Lund has a fantastic student life to offer and as a new student the possibilities are endless! The Science Student Union (LUNA) is therefore here to help you with sorting everything out.

You are always welcome to the union if you have any questions regarding you education, if you face any problems or if you just want a chat, you can reach us via email to luna@luna.lu.se. You can also visit our Facebook page here. This is were we will post information about future happenings for science students.

Novisch period winter 2023

The Novisch period will begin with an introduction meeting on the 18th of January at 17.30 at Kemi Centrum (Sölvegatan 39), entrance A, room M.  Information about what it’s like to be a student here in Lund, the student life, and everything in between will be given at the beginning of the evening. After that we will be having a cozy pizza and game night hangout. This is the link to sign up for the event.

Then we will have a sittning on the 20th of January at Helsingkrona Nation (Tornavägen 3, 223 63 Lund) at 19:30. Sittnings are a huge part of the student life in Lund and as such it is nice to be a part of! We get to sing songs from our song books, eat dinner, drink and have a jolly time! It is a nice way of getting to know each other and afterwards people usually go to the club as an afterparty. We will have a pre party before the sittning, more information about that will come later. The deadline for your food preferences is the 12th of January, but if you sign up after that date the nation can only offer you vegetarian food preferences. This the link to sign up for the event.

  •  Most importantly, to attend Nation events (such as this one) you have to be a member of Studentlund. Studentlund is an organization that includes the Nations, the Academic Association and the student unions. You can find more information on what they do and how to become a member at their website: https://www.studentlund.se/.
  • You have to be 18 years old or older to enter, since this is an event where alcohol is served. To prove your age and identity, make sure you have an official ID of some sort. No alcohol in the queue to the Nation nor to be brought inside!
  • The sitting price is going to be 165 kr.
  • The theme for the sittning is back to school!!!
